Introducing the PCIT Training Tracker

The PCIT Training Tracker is here: a complete training management system built specifically for training clinicians toward PCIT certification.

Every certified PCIT clinician remembers what the training process took: dozens of hours of meetings, several quizzes, coding practice, carrying cases all the way through graduation, and more. And every PCIT trainer knows what it takes to manage all of the steps of this process: spreadsheets, paper checklists, email threads, shared folders, and the inevitable “Can you send that again?”.

We built the Training Tracker to simplify this process.

Designed in collaboration with PCIT trainers and refined through ongoing user feedback, the Training Tracker brings every part of the certification process into a single workspace. Trainers can manage trainees, certification requirements, meetings, quizzes, supervision, and progress reports without juggling multiple systems.

Certification requirements, automatically tracked

Every trainee begins with certification tasks based on current PCIT International certification requirements. Trainers can manage each trainee's progress on these tasks using either a drag-and-drop Kanban board or a sortable table to assign tasks. Trainers can also easily customize tasks, milestones, due dates, and additional requirements to match their own training program.

One feature we're especially excited about is automatic progress tracking. Rather than relying on manual updates, many certification requirements are updated automatically based on activity within the platform. Training hours are tallied from confirmed meeting attendance, monthly trainer contact is tracked automatically following meetings that are scheduled in the platform, and quiz scores, supervision activities, and graduated cases are linked directly to the appropriate certification requirements. Every completed task includes clear documentation, making it easy to monitor progress and visualize how close your trainees are to certification.

Built-in quizzes and reliability coding

The Training Tracker includes several different ways to assess trainee competency throughout the certification process.

Behavior Quizzes help trainees practice coding caregiver verbalizations within DPICS categories. Responses are scored instantly and include per-question explanations. Check out our growing library of ready-to-use behavior quizzes!

Video Quizzes allow trainers to upload video clips, establish an answer key through their own coding, and automatically calculate each trainee's inter-rater reliability once the trainee completes the video quiz.

Live Session Quizzes enable trainers and trainees to independently code the same live practice session, with automatic reliability calculations immediately after coding is complete.

Coaching Quizzes combine automatically scored multiple-choice questions with trainer-reviewed short-answer responses, giving trainees immediate feedback while allowing trainers to evaluate more nuanced coaching decisions.

Supervision on real client sessions

The Training Tracker also streamlines supervision using actual PCIT sessions. Trainers and trainees independently code the same session, then review a side-by-side comparison of their coding, calculate inter-rater reliability, and complete a structured coaching fidelity form that tracks skills such as labeled praises delivered, missed coaching opportunities, and other key coaching behaviors.

Completed supervision activities are automatically linked to the trainee's certification requirements, eliminating duplicate documentation while keeping a complete record of progress.

More than certification tracking

The Training Tracker also includes tools to support the entire training experience.

A shared meeting calendar tracks consultation sessions and training hours, with one-click Google Calendar and Outlook links for trainees. Built-in messaging keeps conversations connected to the relevant trainee, task, or quiz, while automated email and in-app notifications help everyone stay on schedule.

When training is complete, trainers can generate a professional, printable certification report summarizing each trainee's progress across every requirement.
